This is controversial, but I have found that breeding as soon as the girl
will stand increases the chances for boys. Using a microscope for vaginal
smears (we do these ourselves) will help pinpoint the best breeding day and
give a better chance of girls.
Of course, there are other factors that should be considered, such as a stud
who tends to throw girls, but anything that improves the chances of getting
the desired sex, whether you want a boy or a girl, is helpful.
