Laura, I think the size is the problem in that the doggy door was installed in our glass sliding door at an expense of more than $750 by our home's previous owners to accomodate a large lab. My Norfolk Terriers have no problems flipping through it, but because the rubber door is heavier (because it is large) it bounces back on Cozij when she goes through sometimes catching her tail. I am not worried. I know when she gets bigger with a little more weight behind her she will like it fine. She's not pottying in the house but rather sits by the door until I open it or Cheerio her through it. Liz Gordon Merrychase
