Hi, Linda,
Yes, my vet does most of my hip xrays with the dogs wide awake, though
she won't promise she can always do it that way. IF she cannot get the
dog's xray wide awake she uses a mild sedative (like valium; short term)
and that works just fine. So far, I've not had one need a G.A. for a hip
xray.
