Anyone???

Also, what does keep the chip from moving around inside their bodies? Has
anyone had one "slip" & end up somewhere it shouldn't? >>
Hi Amanda:

Our regional club just did a health fair this weekend and I assisted the
vet in the hip radiographs and the microchipping. I must tell you that the
needle is a 14 gauge, we used the HomeAgain chip, and the inital insertion
you really had to push. Now I cannot say that all the dogs cried but most
yelped. Two of the chips, worked their way back out the injection site
before the dogs left the office and one of the labs that got chiped, this was
his second chip in his body. The first migrated from between the shoulders
to the front of the chest cavity and was found by the owners vet approx. 3
months after the chipping. By the way, she was also one of the ones that the
chip came right back out the injection site. I inspected the chip and it was
quite smooth and slippery. The company advertises that the chips have a
rough surface and has projections that help make it stay in place. Well,
needless to say I am not a big advocate of foreign bodies in my dogs so I
will just continue to DNA and tatoo my little guys. I am sure this will be
perfected eventually.
