  I will respond by saying that there are dogs who get their DNA done that are NOT
AKC registered...

 Since the DNA would have to match, there wouldn't be much point in submitting a
swab from Dog A
and saying it was from Dog B.........   no matter WHO does the swabbing!

And finally, when I inquired of the AKC registration department if I had to chip or
tattoo my last import
I asked about doing a DNA test instead and was told that the AKC would definitely
accept DNA in place
of a chip or a tattoo.........regardless of what their written rules state.

Of course, the AKC changes its collective mind about every 3 days on everything in
its purview, so nothing
they say is written in stone.  Y'all do what you want to do.
