hi pat,
this was 13 years ago when they were going to publish the sheltie book of
champions. the lawsuit was a class action suit brought on by the sheltie
people, so you would not have heard about it. i have been in close touch
with the owner of the company, and here is what happened: she was going
through a very nasty divorce and her husband took off with all the money and
pictures for the book. in the divorce settelement she won custody of all the
photos but this was many years after the fact. she wanted to return the
photos but because so much time had gone by, she didnt know if the addresses
were still good, so she still has them. since she has no way of contacting
any of the sheltie people she has asked me to please let them know the
circumstances. i am helping her out by trying to contact sheltie people who
were around at that time so that she can verify these addresses and return
the photos. the reason i got involved was purely by chance, because i got
an email from them to advertise in the new cavalier book and i also have
shelties and pictures of them that were lost to this company way back when.
when i saw the name of the company, i admit i went ballistic, but she had
explained everything and has already returned all my photos to me. she
really is very sorry and wants to right the wrong that was done. and yes i
am taking out an ad in the new cavalier book.
