Rough coat is probably an inherited autoimmune condition. Rough coat puppies have curly whiskers and terrier-like coat. Older dogs may have peeling feet and "funny" toenails. Have known of some that died by age 2, and another that supposedly lived to 14. All the cases I've known about were linebred on dogs with "sea" names, but that may be coincidence.
