What is worse is getting a call from someone who has had one
and still calls

it by the wrong name. Almost all of the people who call telling
me they have

lost a 10 year old or an 8 year old tell me they had a King Charles or a
King

Charles Cavalier. Astonishing.

I think it's amazing when they don't know the name and have one, too.
I think I told the list at the time this happened, but I was with Dinah one day
and someone asked me if she was a King Charles. I said yes, that she was a
Cavalier King Charles. This woman said that she had one at home, but he
was not beautiful like Dinah. I think she was amazed to see a
Cavalier as beautiful as Dinah in person. She had gotten hers from an
Irish broker nearby. She also knew nothing of their heart problems.

I do think it's understandable when someone gets the name confused when
they first start looking. I did the same thing and finally wrote the name
down so I would say it correctly. I had done plenty of research, so I know
it's possible to do research and still not get it exactly right. I would
not have said "miniature cocker" though, and I knew how to say it before I
picked up the puppy. :o)
