Jan and everyone who supported my email,

Thank you. I just wanted to add to your debate. Many people would look at Lona, who is
heavily marked, and has the leg issue, and say " oh, look at that pet in the ring" ,
or " too bad about that rear". It is my humble but greenhorn opinion that, if the dog
has everything else going for it, and by showing, you are aiming for breeding stock,
and by breeding you are aiming to IMPROVE the breed, then you better be doing serious
evaluation before you just up and start showing a dog.

Like Myra said, so what if it has a few freckles, or winter nose. What are you
breeding it to, and what does it contribute to the future of Cavs in the US?

I have seen some real sorry looking dogs in the Cav ring...shown by people who really
need to cut bait and move on ....and, know better! But no, get the pro to finish it ,
breed it, and get sorry looking dogs. And why? Must be for the pet market, where that
person will recoop his 2500 in spades. Oh, and then start the puppy pyramid for
desperate people, who do not have the tenacity to find a nice dog, and get them to
sign all kinds of nice , expensive, messy contracts. No wonder we have the reputation
we do. And the prices of dogs are going to come down, and all we'll have is garbage.
It seems like other countries are catching on....because I see alot of garbage sent in
the name of show prospects. Lucky for me, I have not had that experience. But it seems
to be happening. I mean, let's face it...Cavs cost about 500.00 in the UK for a pet.
And in Ireland, I hear you can get a litter for 500.00.

I admire and hang onto everyword to the breeders who really care, know what they are
doing, and share it! This list is full of them, but also full of people who just want
to have the last word, or be the authority on everything Cavs. Sometimes it's hard to
know who is who, but in the end, good shines through. I know I have been lurking
lately, but that is because when the mud slingging starts, I get so turned off I can't
bear to read anymore. Hope to hear more positive and constructive issues in the future.

BTW, for those who know my husband is fighting for our country on the USS Seattle,
please keep him in your prayers, if you would, and anytime you hear info on the USS
John F Kennedy, he is involved in that deployment.

Best Regards,

Terri
