Hi, Glenn,
In general I do try to bath my dogs each day of a show. It very much
depends on coat type though. If the coat is dry, I will only rebath the
ears and all furnishings. When I stay at a hotel I try desparately to
keep the room acceptable and leave it as though it could be almost
immediately used again. However, I DO bath dogs in the tub in my room.
I have a special thingie that fits in the tub drain to catch hair, bring
my own marked towels (colored ones so as not to confuse with the hotel's
towels) and clean up the tub after each use. *I* can use the tub after
I've bathed a dog in it. <G> And no hair down the drain; that isn't
fair to the hotels. I carry small garbage bags for hair and cleanup
from grooming.
I know many hotels ask that this not be done, but it really isn't
possible to do otherwise usually. So, I compromise by making sure that
I treat the hotel room as if it were my own place and take best care of
it. I have two kingsized sheets that are colored with my monogram on
them that go on the beds as soon as I arrive. A small hand held vac is
also nice to bring......but short of that you can pick up hair with a
roller used for clothes.
I know that this wasn't exactly what you were asking, but you can be
sure that competitors will be bathing dogs each day.....listen to the
harmonic sounds of hairdryers at 5:00 am....<G>. Just be sure you have
the shampoos, conditioners and such for your dog's coat. I'd practice
before I go.........
Best,
Suze
