Hi Elaine

Welcome to the list.

I have been in the ring with your daughter and don't recall her kneeling. At
the time, I had a very inexperienced dog with me and if memory serves I was
kneeling to give this dog some confidence.

IMHO it is more important that a young dog be comfortable and have a
positive experience in the ring. If this means kneeling with the dog, so be
it; he or she will eventually learn to do it right, provided they are
comfortable when they start their show careers and having fun.
