We had our cav checked as a puppy (about four months) as I remember because his eyes seemed excessively teary. No big deal, drops with a fluorescent dye( if memory serves me) that enabled the vet to determine the flow of the tears. No problem. His tearing has subsided but not disappeared (he's almost 3) and it appears it is allergies to things in his environment as it worsens in certain places (e.g. in carpeted rooms - wonderful for indoor shows!!!).
