I am almost afraid to post another question for fear of starting a whole
new controversy but this time I have a question that has puzzled the best
vets. The owners are beside themselves looking for answers.

I placed a 3 year old blenheim bitch almost one year ago. From the
beginning she exhibited horrible scratching symptoms around her neck and
left shoulder area. She walks straight and fine for about 10' and then
sits down, scratches and goes sideways. She does not appear to have mites
now but was treated systematically for them although she did have them at
her original breeder somewhere down south.

She has been on a course of ivermectin, prednisone and baths. She can not
tolerate wearing a collar. While another dog has been offered they love
this dog and want her to get well. They have spent close to $1,000 trying
to determine what the problem might be. They are no closer to any
resolution that when they started. Tufts is a consideration, but I thought
I would ask you instead to see if anyone else out there has experienced
this problem. She is a very sweet girl and does not scratch when in the
house on the bed only when walking.

Thank you for your assistance. I will pass all information to her owner.

Sharona
