Hi List,

I read an article titled Grooming the Old English Sheepdog, and I thought I would
share a couple things that might be useful in many breeds. It said never to wash a dog
with mats as water "sets" the mats. It also recommended using corn starch in a wet
dirty coat, let it dry and brush it out. Also recommended for diarrhea in coat. Just
make sure never to put corn starch, chalk etc. on a wet dog you plan to take in the
ring soon. I do find cornstarch to be wonderful used on a dry coat to get out grease
and dirt right before ring time.
