Hi, Everyone-- My beloved German Shepherd Dog, Kairos, died earlier this evening and has taken a significant piece of my heart with him. While he wasn't a Cavalier, Kai approached life like one and always had wags and a gentle nose-press for everyone he encountered. He absolutely loved to work and was goofy, whip-smart, and sweet to the core: my one really 'special' dog in a life blessed with dogs, the one who truly owned me. I lost him to complications four days after emergency surgery for Gastric Dilataion and Volvulus syndrome--bloat. He was seven. I'm devastated by Kai's loss, but it has been a privilege to have shared my life with such a wonderful creature. I'm going to miss him terribly--the house is a lot quieter tonight.
