hi sylvia,
absolutely!  BUT - the dog would have to be outstanding in every other way.
of course it is up to the judge to check the standard if they are not sure.
i have a friend who judges irish wolfhounds and their standard mentions
nothing about bites, so when she judges she doesnt even look in the mouth for
fear of penalizing a beautiful dog for something that is not in their
standard.  a slightly off bite is IMO alot more forgiving than an ugly
head/face and soundness.
