Susan, look into the Cavalier books and you'll find photos Mme Harper
Trois-Fontaines (always wearing a brimmed hat) among the UK Breeders. She
was THE lady who founded the Great Pyrenees (Pyrenean Mt.Dogs) in England.
She was also a friend of Lady Forwood (Eyeworth Cavaliers) and helped keep
the Cavalier breed going during the 2nd WW. If you go back in the early
pedigrees, you'll find the deFontenay affix on some of the dogs. I was VERY
surprised and pleased to see this.

When I used to take my Great Pyrenees to the shows, he wanted to visit with
all the little dogs as he now had one at home! He was such a gentle fellow
and the Cavaliers loved to race around him in the yard because they knew he
wouldn't catch them! However he was very good at 'heading them off' so I
had to supervise playtime. It was great fun for all.
