Hi Debbi! Glad to have you posting. I have never given my girls anything to relieve pain, as that is very fleeting, it seems. I always sit and hold my girls during whelping, either on my lap, or in the whelping pen, which is waist high. I stroke them, and talk to them, and give them little treats, like cold milk, ice cream, etc. I have had many a puppy born in my lap! Rosanne
