<<<<<<<<they list 9
different "foreign registries" for Australia. Do you not have one
kennel club for the entire country? Do each of these registries have
their own portion of the country depending on where you reside? Do
each of them award Championship titles? Can you get more than
one Australian Champion title on your dog?>>>>>>

The internationally recognised Australian controlling body is the Australian
National Kennel Council.
Each state (we have only a few!) has an office (the above "foreign
registries - no accounting for the way the AKC phrases things!) This body,
comprised of delegates from the States, meets several times a year to decide
on policy matters.
There is one central computer data base for registrations but they are
processed by the office in each state. There is only one Australian
Champion title or Obedience title or Agility title etc.

Each state office will administer the running of all dog activities in that
state - conformation, trialing, judges training schemes etc under the
umbrella of the National body. Rules for the conduct of shows, judges
training etc may differ slightly from state to state but gradually these
things are becoming uniform over the whole country. Our dog world is MUCH
smaller in terms of people and dogs than the rest of the world but we have
many dedicated people involved in the sport/hobby/obsession.
