Hello Jackie What the AKC site is referring to is the Registries for each State of Australia. Members have to register their litters in their own State as some regulations vary i.e.. ownership, microchipping etc (please don't ask for more details as I don't know VBG) However they are all combined into one Registry which covers the whole of Australia. This is linked by a complex computer system which took many months to integrate which delayed registrations etc for over 6mths. I believe the way the separate registries are set-up is because of the size of Australia compared with New Zealand. In New Zealand we have one registry, the New Zealand Kennel Club.
There is only one title awarded in Australia - Australian Champion as in New Zealand - New Zealand Champion, however both countries have a Grand Champion award (rules vary) as an addition to their Championship title.
