Hi List:
I just wanted to comment on Marilyn's post regarding judges, as I do agree
that the practice of selection should be changed and brought to the general
membership for a vote. However, I think we were committed to these judges,
as they were pick quite awhile ago. Definitely, I ballot to the entire
membership is warranted in the future.
As far as the entries are concerned, last year we only had 213 dogs in
the show with a total of 305 entries, this being taken from last years
catalog which I have right in front of me. This year we have 254 with and
total of 354 entries. So, as you can see it is up a bit.
I really recommend that general members volunteer and voice there
interest incommittee or commitee's of their choice so that we can get new
people involved in our club.
We cannot do anything about the past but we can only move forward in a
positive direction. As trophy chair, I have five new people on my committee
that have been very eager and willing to help and participate. Hopefully, we
can involve other new people in the many committees in our club. Based on my
involvement in two all breed clubs, I have had to rotate through every
position in the club as well as the yearly K.C. show. I have held the
position of corrresponding secretary, board member, match show chairman,
trophy chairman and show chairman to mention a few. This maybe a good idea
to make this a requirement of our members to be involved in some aspect of
the ACKCSClub. We need everyones help and involvement. Just a thought.
Its is time for all of us to work together and all members opinions and
suggestions need to be addressed and e-mailed to the board for consideration.
Food for thought.
Warm Regards,
Tina
