I have read various 'cures' for yellow lawn spots on the various lists I
receive - including:

prepare a section of lawn specifically for your dogs to potty on & teach
them to 'go' there -
preparation includes installing stones or mulch in the area - no grass -

other options:
put a small amount of tomato juice over the kibble / dog food you are
feeding

put a small amount of lemon juice in the water - this is also something
some people do to their dog's water when they travel - to 'clean' up the
tastes - in case the water tastes different / different minerals in the
water - so the dog will drink it regardless of what it might smell or
taste like without the lemon juice -

I understand from these suggestions that the key is changing the ph of
the dogs urine a bit -

AND - last but not least - I've heard if you 'flush' the area where your
dog pees with water it will dilute the 'fertilizer' so it doesn't burn
the grass - That would require at least daily 'washing' of the yard -
something that is not going to happen at THIS house, but - I guess it is
an option for some -

Just a few thoughts - suggestions I've read --
