Hello, Sheila,
I very much like the book called "The Five Minute Veterinary Consult"
by Tilley and Smith. It is somewhat technical in nature, but I find it
easy use. I don't use it as a substitute for calling my vet, but rather
to understand a differential diagnosis or treatment.
There are other books out there which perhaps are more first aid
oriented, (and maybe someone else has suggestions of which one is best)
but this one is a book I wouldn't be without.
