Hi all, In the 1st Quarter 2002 Royal Spaniels magazine, there is a reprint of a seminar on Canine Reproduction by Dr. Robert Van Hutchingson. He says that micoplasma is a comon organism found in all body openings. Sort-of the same as staph, strep, etc. It's only when the body's immune system breaks down that this organism can become a problem. The article was very interesting.
Susan Jackson >This is exactly the experience we have had. In the last year, we've had >two >different vets tell us two totally separate and different things about >mycoplasma. One says it is common and a cause for worry and recommended >culturing to test for it if a breeder has repro problems, one says it >rarely occurs in Washington, is elusive and difficult to detect and thought >to be a commonly occurring bug which is everywhere. Hard to even believe >they are both talking about the same microorganism.
