Marilyn,
There were things I liked better in previous years than this year (like
getting a T-Shirt! - LOL), but you have to admit it was nice being in air
conditioning this year!! The portrait photographer was very talented and we
got some incredible pictures coming in a couple of weeks. The champagne
toast with souveneir glasses was a nice gesture, and we have NEVER seen an
auction like this year's auction! Plus it was the first year that the
auction benefited the Canine Health Foundation, with the longterm goal of
furthering Cavalier research. I of course could not afford a lot of the
items, but I loved the beautiful dog bed I won with the high bid of $75.
Good thing no one new it was for my Charlie "Pearl" and not for a Cavalier
or I may have been outbid!
The AGM was on Wednesday, and the complaints I read on the list that
you voiced were from Thursday and Friday's shows, so maybe you should write
a letter to the Board? Have all the members who agree with you sign it to
prove that it truly is the voice of many and not of a few. I think this
past year's Board has been more receptive to the membership than any other
time in the history of the Club, but the only way to improve things for the
future is through cooperation and involvement of the membership.
