Hi Myra,

I am really behind in my email, so this may be a moot point now. I have a stud
contract but also let the bitch owner know that everything is negotiable. I am sure
there are things I have not thought of that could work for some breedings. We both
have to agree. Have you tried to negotiate the points you are uncomfortable with? My
guess as to why they want to determine which puppies will be shown, is so no puppies
that are not a good representation of what their boy can produce will not be shown. I
do agree with not letting a stud owner set the price for the puppies-that is just
absurd!

Oh, Myra, on your linebreeding. Most impt. know what you are doubling up on. Just a
linebreeding in itself does not make nice puppies-I am sure you know that! Will you be
getting the lovely head you admire but get stuck with another generation of long weak
toplines-a pet peeve and all too common! Good Luck!

The book Born to Win by Pat Craige Trotter covers a lot of breeding issues. Also loved
the article in April AKC Gazette The Healthy Dog-Genetic Diversity. This aritcle was a
great refresher course in breeding.
