<<<<<<<ince I am relatively new to breeding cavaliers I am wondering if
anyone out there has a suggestions on how to breed for well broken coats in
tris. Do you have something you specifically look for in the parents or are
there certain lines that are more likely to give well broken coats? >>>>..

Well Barbara, after just on 30 years in the breed, I would like to know
too!!! VVBG The best stud dog we ever had for producing well marked tris
with beautifully broken up markings (when mated with blens or tris or
wholecolours carrying particolour gene) was a Black & Tan!

I have no idea why this seems to be so difficult but it is. Either you get
melting head and expression with the blaze just right and the body black, or
the body is beautifully broken up and the head is black! Can't seem to win
either way. Mind you, one of my best producing bitches has lovely body
markings and no white blaze on the head. I never showed her but she gave me
lovely pups.
