Glenn, regarding breeding a bitch at an older age, even seven, I think it is perfectly okay. For instance, I have a bitch who is just turned eight and heart clear; healthy in every other way, and if she hadn't already produced so many puppies, and attained the age of eight, I would breed her in a heartbeat. Of course, my veterinarian would be the person with the final decision. I wouldn't breed a bitch who wasn't heart clear at all; perhaps because everything I have from 8 on down is heart clear, eye clear and has had OFA hips done, and it has never come up. I may have to rethink that one day, but I surely hope not. Rosanne
