How much experience have you had with AGGRESSIVE dogs in your work with
the shelter?
You need to use lots of structure, lots of 'you in control' work - so
this dog learns to 'work for you', pretty much for every good thing that
comes to his life - no freebies, and certainly nothing good in response
to improper behavior on his part.
It takes a special person to even try to work with a dog that has
crossed this threshold & bitten someone - special in what they know,
special in what they are willing to put into working with this dog in an
attempt to help it - an attempt that may not work out -
Once a dog has crossed the line & bitten - the chances of it doing that
again are greatly increased -
Since this dog has been 'set off' by a child, you will have to have him
crated / secured away from any children that may come into your home -
at least for a good long time, until you KNOW you can trust him to behave -
Having him be ok with your other dogs is a great positive - but having
him not be ok with some humans is a big worry to me - Yes, he is a
small dog, but ... even small dogs can inflict PAIN and do damage -
Even little dogs can do damage / be a danger - they really can - Please
be careful -
