Hello, all;

I'd like to wish everyone a very good Memorial Day (here in the US of A!)...
Please visit the page I just whipped up as my little tribute to an important
day for Americans: http://www.DarkStarFamily.com/MemorialDay.htm
Many people place flags or flowers on graves of family, soldiers, and/or
friends as a way to honor and remember them. In every case, it's truly the
memory that is the important part: remembering what they've done for us is a
way to continue to thank them....

My family spent yesterday at our family's mountain cabin, spreading ashes of
Grandma Audrey ~ http://www.DarkStarFamily.com/Audrey.htm ~ whom we lost in
January. Each person was given a small vial of her ashes, and was encouraged
to place in a spot that was special to them. As Grandma and Grandpa *built*
the cabin long ago, it was a fitting tribute to those of us that continue to
enjoy the fruits of their labor. Many found the river (ZigZag River, from
the Zigzag glacier on Mt. Hood, brrr!) to be the special place, as Grandma
loved sitting by the river. I thought that a special Rhododendron by the
kitchen window, and a huckleberry bush nearby, were where I chose for my
mini-memorial. The essence of Grandma will live on in our hearts, as well
-now- as a place we could stare at when we are at the cabin.

kindest regards,
Sandra
