Hi List, I just took Redford to the vet to get his health certificate as I am sending him to NH with a handler to hopefully get him finished. By the way, please watch for him in the ring if you are in that area. His registered name is Sheeba Beach Boy, aka "Redford." He took AB and BOW in Lexington, KY recently. I am so grateful to Karin for entrusting me with him and promised her I would try to get him finished so I am excited to see what Linda McCartney Roy will be able to do with him. But the reason I am writing is to tell you all when my vet looked into his ears, he noticed some beginning signs of ear infection and we caught it in time. He told me during the hot summers we need to keep our Cavaliers on a maintenance treatment of using half alcohol to half vinegar twice weekly to keep the infections down. Vinegar prevents yeast from growing and alcohol dries them out. I just wanted to share this with you as I had no clue anything was going on and once before my tri female had a horrible ear infection and lost some hearing because it was so bad. She didn't shake her head or scratch or anything....so please just be careful! It can happen. Cheryl Van Winkle www.portraitcavaliers.com
