Most of my boys are xrayed for hip dysplasia between 9 and 12 months of age.
As near as I can tell, the vast majority of growth plates will be closed by
10-12 months of age with just a few closing later.

Sexual-type behaviors and sexual maturity seems to happen earlier than that!
Most of my boys are fertile by 7 or 8 months of age, lifting legs, excited
about girls in season.

I don't think there is any connection, but it is possible.
