Gayle, one of ours did something similar and we found that he had been
chewing the wooden gate in the backyard which was made of pressure treated
lumber. We had to cover the wood with metal to keep him from chewing it. The
good news is that this wasn't fatal. It just made him foam and drool. Scared
us to death though.
