I was the one who said that I preferred to see the puppy. I have bought long
distance via photos several times in the past. Twice, I have been really
taken to the cleaners by breeders misrepresented puppies. I tend to purchase
by pedigree more than photos anyway, but the photos in both cases were
misleading AND the information on the pups was erroneous. In other words, I
was lied to "big time". In one case, I insisted that the breeder at least
refund the difference between pet and show, which she did many months later
prior to facing me at an old club show. The last time, I just chalked it up
to experience as the dog was imported. No way to put any pressure on them
and no way to get my money back.
All the best,
Susan Cochran

Hi all,
Some one mentioned about their preference to see a pup prior to purchasing.
I am new at the show scene . I chose a pup from photos of her litter from a
breeder who had been recommended to me. The breeder said she was show
potential not show quality (as she did not have a magic wand to predict how
she would turn out as an adult). To cut a long story short, the breeder
still keeps very regular contact and i was very pleased to let her know
recently that my girl had became a champion. Not all breeders are deceptive
a majority of the breeders here in NZ that i have met have been very
helpful and very supportive, i wouldn't hesitate to buy another pup upon a
recommendation of a known and respected breeder, by only sighting it through
photos. This is my good experience with buying from photo and not seeing the
pup in person.
