I just wanted to say that I bought a Siberian Cat and paid $1100 for it. I know some birds, like an African Grey that are $5k+++ and other pets, like horses for example are lots more than Cavaliers. The people that I have sold my pets to in the past are mainly working professionals, with stay at home moms, who can drop thousands of dollars on clothing or whatever they choose and can well afford to buy a Cavalier as a pet. If they can't afford to buy a Cavalier then they can always drop down and get another breed. I personally have no problem asking top dollar for my puppies as I know how much work I put into raising a litter, not to mention covering all the expenses of advertising, vet, food and phone bills. I invest every cent right back into buying better quality dogs for showing and showing expenses. I don't want puppies back or co-ownerships as I have learned how many friendships have been ruined because of them. :-) Cheryl Van Winkle www.portraitcavaliers.com
