Joy, I've certainly *been* you in the past, because my animals always come
first for me. It's often difficult to find somebody (whether you're a man or
woman) who shares your love for your animals. My first husband (now deceased)
was wonderful; he doted on me and the dogs, cats, horses, goats, birds...well,
you get the picture. The second husband pretended to be an animal lover (he
HAD a dog when we met!) but showed his true colors when he took my wonderful
rottie/shepherd cross dog (our son's beloved pet and protector) and tied him
up outside the animal shelter for some small household misdemeanor. I had no
time for the man after that and succeeded in getting rid of him within two
years.

My current love and I are not married (I might; I might not) but have been
together four years and he loves the animals. He's the soft touch between the
two of us and the dogs and cats adore him. I made sure this one understood
early on that animals are what I'm all about; they are the passion of my life.
If push came to shove he would lose and he knows that...but judging from what
I'm seeing so far, it's not going to be an issue. :)
