Hi, I'd like to reintroduce myself. I am 28 and single and for now I am a stay at home mom to Baker my blenheim baby. He has just turned 1 (on May 26th) and is the best thing that ever happened to me. I used to work long hours as an engineering recruiter, but have recently found myself at home with nothing to do but look for work and spoil my little Baker (and of course, go to dog shows and read list emails!) .
When I worked, Baker was well taken care of as my job allowed me to come and go as I pleased and my mom an Dad (Baker's human grandma and grampa) live about 2 miles away and were a good back up if i got stuck in the office too long. Now that I'm at home, he is quite happy to sit on my lap all day and sleep on my pillow at night. I have recently started showing him in AKC conformation and am really enjoying it. He is on a bit of a break due to the recent blunder at the groomers, but we are still attending weekly handling classes with Dale Martin and waiting for those slippers to grow back!! Baker is from Kim Johnson/Allegria out of Elvenhome Keep Hopeing (blenheim) . His sire is CH Envision Riverboat Gambler who is a stunning tricolor! After many conversations with breeders I felt the most comfortable with Kim as she was willing to give me a chance with my first dog! I must also say a special thanks to Marilyn Mayfield for introducing me to Kim or i might still be looking!!! I also own 2 cats, Janey and Abbott that I have had for around 8 years. They are fun and I love them, but i think i can safely say that i've been converted from a cat person to a dog person! I've always had cats and never owned a dog until high school when we got a rescue Golden named Lady. After several years Lady passed on and our family welcomed Cora, a little bitty golden named Cora (10 weeks old). Cora is now 10 1/2 and still acts like a pup. She lives with my parents and enjoys almost daily visits from little Baker who has lots of respect for her since he's been around goldens since birth ! One other noteworthy piece of info is that I have a long history with fostering kittens from local humane societies and actually worked as an adoption counselor for one when I got out of college (southern oregon state bs in psych). I think i've saved well over 100 kittens and Baker has taken over the role of mommy for the babies.....keeping them clean and snuggling with them when they are sleepy. Its so cute to watch!! i will put up pictures on his website soon... Well, I learn alot from the cavalier lists and am thankful to those that make them happen. website in progress www.geocities.com/bakerthecavalier Mary McHenry Baker (Allegria Too Many Cooks), CGC Abbott (Master Tabby Cat) Janey (the Queen black kitty) ========================================================= "Magic Commands": to stop receiving mail for awhile, click here and send the email: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=SET%20CKCS-L%20NOMAIL to start it up gain click here: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=SET%20CKCS-L%20MAIL E-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] for assistance.
