Maybe we've over-educated the newbies on the list a bit. There are some very nice, very sincere and ethical breeders on this list and we do occasionally have a pup available. Instead of taking Pam's email to the list (and quoting her name and phone #) I think you should simply have called her or emailed her. "too small" is a fault, like any fault, and we don't use dogs for breeding who turn out to have a fault that we don't want in our breeding programs.
