Hey, all! May I suggest we all back off on this one? Kelly and her family
are not about to divest themselves of their business ventures, and we'd do
ourselves, this list, and Cavaliers far greater service to address issues
that are of concern to stewards of the breed worldwide. One way to attack
the puppy mills is to advertise and work always thru your Cavalier breed
club, regionally and Nationally. Education of the surfers in cyberworld via
our breed club link FIRST on any and ALL of these generic puppy search
engines is a very strong statement. Puppy-mill/commercial breeders do not
have these kinds of links because they are not the caliber of breeder who is
accepted for membership in these organizations. I cannot seem to convince
(yet) breeders of the value of using their parent club ONLY as the link to
their web sites, rather than putting themselves out there with the
commercial breeders on the 'generics' lists.

I dunno...maybe I'm just part of the old school of thought that says work
thru and behalf of your AKC breed club and make it realistically represent
and address your breed. As frustrating as this is sometimes, it is the
major approach to combating the puppy-mill 'ethic'. Incidentally, has
anyone ever reasearched just how the commercial breeder/pet shop came about?
It's an interesting historical search, and it's a classic case of the 'best'
of intentions gone amok. Like Gypsy Moths, sorta...<G>
