There should be an expiry date on the jar.  If it is past that date and it has
been kept refrigerated, it will still be at full potency.  If it is outdated and
it has NOT been refrigerated, then it has probably lost some potency and more
than the recommended amount should be added to get the full benefit.  If it is
kept refrigerated, its shelf life is almost unlimited.
