It's been a few days since I got suggestions from the group about what to do with a puppy that gulps her water. There were several good suggestions but I tried the easiest one first--that of elevating her water dish. I put her dish on top of a canned water carton placed sideways. It worked immediately and has worked for the last few days. She no longer coughs after drinking. The other two adult dogs like the height better too. So off I go this morning down the mountain into the Springs to buy a real elevated dog dish. Thanks so much for your help. Liz Gordon Merrychase
