Hi All, I am working hard not to shout here :) I have Peggy, and if anyone remembers I got her from CARE about 2 1/2 years ago. She is a tri and now 5 1/2 years old. We knew she had been dianosed with a 1 / 2 murmur before the age of 2. She was also heard at 3, and just last fall at 4, still had a slight murmur. At when I had her first at 3, she had x-rays, echos, the whole 9 yards, and without question, she had MVD. BUT..........last weekend her vet couldnt' find her murmur, and she had before. I said I was seeing the cardiologist today and would let her know.... So, today, Dr. Hogan listens and listens....and tells me no murmur, I looked at him, rather quizzical I am sure and said, uhh, no, she has MVD. He then told me that with proper care, that they can do this....even at 5 and 1/2 with early onset. At this point, I am tickled that all of our hard work to lose 8 lbs and exercise regularly in the last 2 years has paid off! I never dreamed that the visit I was dreading figuring I would be talking meds for her, she is clear of murmurs! Besides the Heart Clinic, its my first ckcsc show and I'm having a great time, meeting everyone I have only met online....and seeing faces! My table isn't doing so great :) but thats ok.
