We have just returned from the show where we stayed, together with Lucy and
Di Koster, to watch Joyce and "Milo" compete in the Toy Group which was
judged by Ellis Hulme. Although he didn't manage to get into the four
finalists he was shortlisted for consideration and put up a good show and
represented the Breed splendidly. Having no one at home to telephone the
good news to as most of her friends were there at the show Joyce was
frantic
to tell someone of her good fortune. Lucky you were in, Ellie! There were
291 Cavaliers there with Molly Coaker doing the dogs and Heather Wheeler
doing the bitches. Rita Gora did not appear and Heather was asked to judge
as a stand in at the last moment. No one seemed to know what had happened
to
Rita. There has been speculation since the entry closed that she might not
be up to doing it. It seems the rumours were not without substance. We had
no complaints with the change winning Puppy dog, Puppy bitch, Novice dog,
Undergraduate bitch, 2nd in Mid limit and 4th in Postgraduate dog. So a
good
day! "Haagen Dazs" also sired the Minor Puppy dog winner owned by Karen
Sandlan who won Best Puppy dog. Best Puppy bitch and Best Puppy in Breed
was
Sylvia Lymer's. A sweltering day which was uncomfortable for the dogs. Mine
are glad to be home and enjoying unwinding in the cool garden. Something
they look forward to after a long drive home and being cooped up all day on
 the bench.
Onto the next show....the Northern Cavalier next week.
