Linda, It is my understanding that kneeling is a no no even at AKC shows and something I will never do with a Cavalier even though I still kneel with the Goldens. As for training to stack, I am using a combination of Happy Legs ( http://www.happylegs.com/ ) and clicker training with Savvy. The Happy Legs box can be put up on the table and also used on the floor while you stand a few feet away. With the Happy Legs, if they move a foot out of place, there is no need to be close to correct it as the action itself is followed by a "correction," Their balance will be lost. The other thing I do is click and treat her when she is standing four square and looking up at me wagging her tail on her own with no lead or happy legs.
