Dear Group,

I have a question/problem: however, some of you would not consider this a
problem. I have a non-peeing 8 month old bitch puppy. My husband says a lot
of people would pay a lot of money for a non-peeing dog and he thinks he is
funny. "She's a $50,000 dog!" he says.

I've pretty much given up wanting her to go when the other dogs do, and just
let her do her own thing. Usually after 8 hours of sleep and then breakfast,
she will go out.

The vet finds nothing systemically wrong with her--no evidence of stones,
inflammation or any obstruction, nothing. We think she just has a big
bladder. She shows no signs of pain whether peeing or not. Nor does she lick.

She can pee before we go to bed (if we are lucky), then stay in her crate all
night until we get up at 6 a.m. and walk outside with the rest of the dogs
but will just sit there as if to say, "Me? Don't need to." If I had a sense
of humor that early in the morning this everyday situation could be funny.

She hates cold, wet, even damp grass and refuses to walk on it. So when it
rains, I put her on leash and walk her around the mountain. She loves walking
in the rain. But pees on the trip? Nope!

Cozette pees when I say wee, wees. And all the dogs, no matter how old, get
lots of constant praise, but this little, sweet, beautiful Cavalier has a
mind of her own. It could have something to do with her first days with us in
March when there was about a foot of snow on the ground and we took her out
to go potty. I could see her mind working then.
I guess what I am asking is, any of your dogs behave in this manner?
