After a long absence from the list due to a serious eye problem, I am popping up my fund raising head again on behalf of the Friends of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - they have organized a sponsored walk and fun day next Sunday (August 18th) at Broughton Castle near Banbury (UK). The will be a lot of fun events in addition to the Walk and I will have my usual Helping Hearts stall -so if you can, please come and join us.
Money raised will go towards funding a student who will be working on MVD research. The UK Cavalier club is sponsoring this student and we need to raise about 17,000 to cover their tuitiion and accomodation, etc, costs for two years. I think so far 13,000 of this sum has been found. This is something very special for us so please help raise the last few thousand pounds for the Club's aptly named "Lub-Dub" fund. The decision to sponsor the student was announced at the Cavalier show at Malvern in March, and I was so thrilled that this initiative had been taken, and then almost immediately I was incapacitated by an eye problem (still ongoing) which has prevented me from doing anything at all on the fund raising front, which has been completely devastating and hearbreaking for me... Please visit <http://www.cavalierkingcharles.com/Helping_Hearts/lubdub.shtml> for further information and links to the club website (for information on the fund) and to Ros Loades web site (for information on the Sponsored Walk and sponsorship forms). I have also set up donation links via Paypal (international) and Nochex (UK ) if any of you would like to sponsor my Terrible Twins or Ros Loades' Boycie (Rosirius Serge) on the Walk or to just make a contribution! I hope that some of you will be able to make it to Banbury, and if you can't come please make a donation to help us fund our MVD research student! Thank you, Rosemary -- Rosemary I.H.
