Hi Debbie,
I think you are right on target on how to get this lost little Charlie.
Having had the breed I think this might be the only way to capture a shy dog
in a very stressful situation. She has no one she feels she can trust and any
movements to capture her and pin her down will only send her further into the
woods. There are a lot of predatory animals in Florida and I'd hate to see
her wind up as gator bait.
