Rosanne, do you put the dry powder directly on the stain? No, I mix it with hot water to dissolve it, and then after it cools (or if I am in a hurry I throw in some ice cubes), I pour it onto the stain. I do the same with my beige carpet throughout my house, cause sometimes they do dumpies and peewees on that too! ) : I always use the white towel and stomp and stomp to dry it as much as possible.
