Stephanie, Congratulations on Kiefer's new Champion! Another topic - education. Betty Aikenhead suggested I contact you regarding getting a bunch of the ABC brochures on the Boxer. I want something to give to new members. Are you the person to contact?
I'm the President of our club this year and am trying to jump start the club. Currently we barely have enough members to fill the board. I keep saying we need non-competition members that can attend meetings and help with events not related to our annual show. Just trying to have a meeting each month is a chore as most of the "active" members are showing in conformation and/or obedience. I have made the commitment not to show my dogs on the day of meetings, but others will not or cannot make this comittment. I have unsuccessfully tried to set up a Boxer Fun Faire in order to have a fun day for members and their dogs and to try to attract new members but between now and the end of the year there is not a single weekend that the majority of the "active" members are willing to give up a show date to participate. Now it's been moved to the Spring, maybe Feb-Apr, when it rains. Very depressing.
