Hi again list, I wanted to mention the dog behavior seminar I attended over the weekend. It was given by Patricia McConnell and was excellent. The topics she covered were proper communication with another species, primarily the dog, and dogs in multi dog households. She has done so much research in her field and offers so much common sense advice. Her books are available at www.dogsbestfriendtraining.com I bought them all. I love her ideas-not hers alone-on dominance theory and how it often does not work knowing the social order of your pack. The dominant dog is usually not the problem it is all the status seekers. She has had great success with asking that all her canines be patient and polite and this has diffused many a social order issue-even amongst bitches. I understand this is not much of a problem with Cavaliers-but they are still dogs.
She has great books, easy to understand and fun to read that would be perfect to give out with puppies going to their new homes. She has bulk prices and each book is very concise offering so much in a little space. Hope some of you will check it out and share with other dog friends.
